I'm a mom of four and have a background in health care. I am a writer and artist, doula and childbirth educator, registered yoga teacher, and expressive arts facilitator. Integrating connection with nature, mindful movement and the rest of the expressive arts modalities is both the basis of my work, as well as my own self-care.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta and a Certificate in Labour Relations & Human Resources from Athabasca University. I have completed expressive arts training at the Prairie Institute of Expressive Arts Therapy, Expressive Arts Florida Institute, and the Trauma-Informed Practices and Expressive Arts Therapy Institute, among others.
An International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA) Creative Wellness Service Initiative Guide and working towards my Registered Expressive Arts Consultant/Educator (REACE) certification, I have been a professional member of IEATA since 2018 and currently serve as IEATA Canada's Regional Co-coordinator.
My writing has focused mainly on topics related to maternal-child health, including many magazine articles and a chapter in the 2005 book, Adventures in Childbirth.
